Our story...
Sleekburn Water has always been a special place to us. The lake was created in 1997 and has stayed in our family ever since, quietly growing into the space it is today. Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours here, watching it change with the seasons and caring for it in a way that lets nature lead.
From the very beginning, it’s been about the wildlife. The plants, birds, insects and animals that have made a home here are what give the lake its character, and everything we do is with them in mind. We’ve never rushed it or forced it—just gently shaped and maintained the lake so it can thrive as a balanced, natural environment.
As time has gone on, we’ve come to really understand what this place offers people too. There’s something about being by the water, out in the open, that helps you slow down, clear your head and just feel a bit more like yourself again. It’s something we’ve experienced ourselves, and it’s a big part of why we’ve chosen to share it.
We’ve opened Sleekburn Water in a way that stays true to what it is—calm, natural and unspoilt. Somewhere you can come to take a breath, spend time in nature and feel welcome without expectation.
Whether you’re here for a swim, some quiet time by the water, or just to take it all in, you become part of the story too—and by being here, you’re helping us care for it for the future.
Thank you,
See you soon!
